Translations:

1)
Ludwig Lange, “Neue Experimente über den Vorgang der einfachen Reaction auf Sinneseindrücke.” Philosophische Studien, 4 (1888), pp. 479-510.

I translated this as “New experiments on the process of the simple reaction to sensory impressions.” in 2009 for the website “Classics in the History of Psychology”, an electronic resource developed by Prof. Christopher D. Green.

This article by Wilhelm Wundt’s future assistant claimed distinct “sensory” and “muscular” types of reaction, thereby setting off a debate (among Cattell, Baldwin, Titchener, Angell and others) that led to the school of Functionalism.

2)

Speech by the mayor of The Hague, Salomon Jean René de Monchy, given on 20 May 1940.

Die Verfolgung und Ermordung der europäischen Juden durch das nationalsozialistische Deutschland 1933–1945

This 16-volume project is organized by the Institut für Zeitgeschichte and is dedicated to documenting the persecution and murder of Europe’s Jews by the Nazis. Each volume contains various documents from different nations afflicted by Nazism. Massive in scale and expertly edited, the German edition has been supplemented with an English version, entitled The Persecution and Murder of the European Jews by Nazi Germany, 1933–1945. I translated a number of documents from Dutch to English for volume 5.
